Congratulations to Mathematically Gifted & Black for earning the 2022 AWM Presidential Recognition Award! As the AWM announcement describes, “the AWM Presidential Recognition Award was established in 2014 to recognize those individuals who, or programs that have significantly increased and/or supported women in mathematics.”
Mathematically Gifted & Black (MGB) was established in 2016 with the purpose of increasing the visibility of Black mathematicians. Today, there are over 200 mathematicians featured on the MGB website. The website is an inspiration for rising Black professionals, a growing archive for the work of Black mathematicians across education, research, and industry, and a resource for hiring institutions.
Mathematically Gifted & Black is run by Erica Graham (EDGE ’06), Raegan Higgins (EDGE ’02 and Summer Program Co-Director), Candice Price (EDGE mentor), and Shelby Wilson (EDGE ’06). EDGE is beyond proud and inspired by all four of these amazing Woman Math Warriors!
