Got miles? EDGE is proud to announce the MileEDGE for Women Program, which secures travel for women and underrepresented minorities in mathematics.

Since everyone is trying to keep themselves and others safe, why not donate your miles to a great cause? Your miles will be used to support:

  • Travel to the annual summer program
  • Travel to the Joint Mathematics Meeting, a national meeting for mathematicians
  • Travel for early career faculty to produce cutting-edge research
  • Emergency travel grants for members of the EDGE community

How to donate

At this time, we are accepting miles from American Airlines, Delta, Southwest, and United. Please see below for step-by-step instructions on how to donate miles.

Please note: all EDGE airline accounts are listed in Ami Radunskaya’s name. Dr. Radunskaya is the President of the EDGE Foundation and has been affiliated with the program since its inception in 1998. All donated miles will go to support EDGErs.

We are not tax experts, but this is our understanding. Since miles are given from the airlines to the individual, the IRS does not count donated miles as tax deductible. If you purchased miles and then donated them, then they are tax deductible. Please contact a tax professional if you have questions.

Most airlines charge a transfer fee – around $30 – to give miles to another individual.  Check with the program to see what they require.

Donate miles with American Airlines

  1. Click ‘Transfer Miles’
  2. Sign into your AAdvantage account
  3. Navigate to Transfer section
  4. Select number of miles you would like to transfer
  5. Input MileEDGE account information:
  6. Complete payment of transfer fees

Donate miles with Delta

  1. Navigate to ‘Transfer Miles’
  2. Click “Add recipient”
  3. Sign into your Delta SkyMiles account
  4. Select number of miles you would like to transfer
  5. Input MileEDGE account information:
  6. Click “Save”
  7. Complete payment of transfer fees

Donate miles with Southwest

Note: Southwest transfers points, not miles

  1. Click ‘Transfer points’
  2. Click “Add recipient”
  3. Sign into your Southwest account
  4. Select number of miles you would like to transfer
  5. Input MileEDGE account information:
