On Friday, June 17th in Tallahassee, Rhonda and Sylvia passed the EDGE torch, which they have held since 1998, to Ami Radunskaya and Ulrica Wilson, who will become the new Co-Directors in 2012. Ami and Ulrica are well-known to all EDGErs, as they have been an integral part of the program since its inception. Ami, who is Professor and Chair of the Mathematics Department at Pomona College, has either taught or hosted the program every year since 1998. EDGErs have fond memories of her analysis problems. Ulrica was first a mentor in the program, when she was a graduate student at Emory University. After completion of her Ph.D., she became an instructor, and has taught the algebra course for several years. She is now Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Morehouse College. Ami and Ulrica are the EDGE “dream team.”

Ami and Ulrica have received a grant from NSA, and (unofficial) word from the NSF that they would have funding for an EDGE 2012 program, which tentatively will be held at Pomona College. Thus begins a new and exciting era for EDGE. Congratulations and best wishes, Ami and Ulrica!
