U.S. President Joe Biden announced that Ingrid Daubechies, EDGE Board Director and James B. Duke Distinguished Professor Emerita of Mathematics at Duke University, will receive the 2025 National Medal of Science in recognition for her pioneering work on signal processing.
Daubechies’ exceptional contributions have been extensively recognized by the STEM community. Among many awards, she was the first woman to have received the National Academy of Sciences Award in Mathematics in 2000.
