Dr. Nina Fefferman is the local host of the 2024 and 2025 EDGE Summer Program at the University of Tennesse. Recently, she was awarded $18M by the NSF to launch the NSF Analysis and Prediction of Pandemic Expansion (APPEX) Center. The APPEX Center takes an interdisciplinary approach to research, working across fields such as biomedical services, ecoloy, socio-behavioral studies, etc. As part of this amazing team, Shelby Wilson E06, Senior Professional Staff I at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, is the Associate Director for Education, Training, Outreach and Participation.
